Culture and art statistical yearbook of Iran, 1399 (2020/21)

This statistical yearbook has been presented by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance on the status of culture and art in Iran in 1399 (2020/21).

A broad, precise, and transparent statistical system is one of the characteristics of advanced and developed countries, because without access to precise and up-to-date statistics and information, analyzing the existing situation, forecasting trends, planning, and evaluating actions taken is not possible. For this reason, in the past few years topics such as organizing and modernizing statistics, converting non-register-based statistics into register-based ones, transparency, and public information have been placed on agencies' agendas.
In this connection, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance each year makes available to the public the most important statistics and information it has collected in the field of culture and art. These statistics relate specifically to the working domain and assigned duties of the ministry in question and do not include the performance of other agencies that do cultural work. For this reason the yearbook's audience is, in the first degree, the ministry's managers and officials and, in the second degree, researchers and people of culture.
It should be stated that because of conditions arising from the COVID epidemic, performance statistics in some fields have declined markedly relative to previous years.
