Results of the household cultural behavior survey in Iran, 1399 (2020/21)

This report was published by the Statistical Centre of Iran in 1399 (2020/21) on households' cultural activities.

This center, as the principal authority for supplying the statistics needed by planners, carries out special statistical plans. One of these plans is the household behavioral culture survey. The importance of recognizing and measuring public culture in the flourishing and development of society requires that a coherent and dynamic statistical system be established in this sector and that the production and publication of the statistics and information needed by planners be placed on the agenda.
Therefore, in order to draw a comprehensive picture of the country's cultural status, the "Survey of Household Cultural Activities" was implemented for the first time by the Statistical Centre of Iran in 1393 (2014/15). After that, and in 1394 (2015/16), this plan, with the addition of some sections and questions, was implemented again under the title "Survey of Household Cultural Activities and Behaviors." This plan was implemented in 1396 (2017/18) and also 1399 (2020/21) under the title "Survey of Household Behavioral Culture." In this plan, detailed information on the cultural activities and behavioral characteristics of members of the country's households has been collected during one stage of field operations, and it examines the behavioral pattern of persons 15 years of age and older who are members of households in urban and rural areas on the basis of their statements.
The present publication contains the results of the said plan. It is hoped that the information presented in this publication will be used by cultural-social policymakers, planners, and researchers, and that with the continuation of this plan, recognition of indicators and of the trend of cultural and behavioral changes over time will become possible.
